Dumfries and Galloway is a unique place to live and work. From rolling hills and lush green forests to coastal shores and array of wildlife, the region is a patchwork of culture and tradition, underpinned by numerous, distinct communities and settlements.

Each of these contain an array of activities and services for all ages, tastes and requirements – including health and social care provision, sport, hobbies, annual events and festivals. Whether available regionally or only in one location, these all make a positive contribution to the health and wellbeing of individuals throughout their lives.

The Living Well has been developed to allow these activities and services to be more findable to residents of Dumfries and Galloway. Whether it’s information on Older People receiving help with their shopping to details of a club at your local village hall, the services aims to provide information from across sectors, for both the public and professionals.

What’s more, organisations will be able to freely contribute their information to the service, and have the ability to have a search box feature on their website.

The Living Well forms part of Third Sector, Dumfries and Galloway’s Health and Social Care Integration Project, which is funded through Dumfries and Galloway Health and Social Care Partnership.

Third Sector, Dumfries and Galloway works to promote a strong and sustainable third sector which makes a lasting contribution to the wellbeing and prosperity of the people and communities of Dumfries and Galloway. As the region’s Third Sector Interface it is charged with advocating the role of the third sector in the health and social care arena. This includes building clearer knowledge and understanding of current activity within the third sector, its contribution, capacity to change and capacity to adapt to meet the changes from Health and Social Care Integration. For more information about this and Adult Health and Social Care Integration please visit the project’s website.

The Living Well  has been developed using ALISS (A Local Information System for Scotland)  – a search and collaboration tool for Health and Wellbeing resources in Scotland, funded by the Scottish Government and delivered by the Health and Social Care ALLIANCE Scotland.
